Smith said the new targets were "economically responsible", citing government calculations that show that a 15 per cent reduction in emissions from 1990 levels by 2020 would cost each New Zealander NZ$1,400 ($942, £564) a year, or NZ$5,600 in reduced annual income for a family of four.

However, green groups were quick to criticise the new targets, which are far less ambitious than had been originally expected when the government last year committed to make the country "climate neutral"

This one is from New Zealand, perhaps one of the "greenest" countries in the world. Thanks to the fact that they are heavy into agriculture and dairy farming, they are going to be stung to the tune of $942 USD per person, per year... and yet the Greens in the country say it's not even close to approaching what is needed.

This is from a country that produces approximately 0.2% of total global emissions.

Cap and Trade is going to be very, very expensive.
